Session Type: Symposium
This interactive symposium will provide an in-depth analysis of the educational issues of African American males in PreK-12 students in educational settings and how school professionals and other stakeholders can work to promote academic achievement. More specifically, this interactive symposium will provide cutting-edge research from a highly publicized book (i.e., quantitative, qualitative, and mixed method designs) to aid educational practitioners and other stakeholders in improving the academic achievement of African American male students in educational settings (Moore & Lewis, 2014). To make this interactive symposium applicable to education professionals and other stakeholders, implications will be provided to individuals, such as: (a) parents, (b) teachers, (c) school counselors, (d) administrators; and (e) educational policy makers.
