Session Type: Symposium
This session’s objective is to present findings from four empirical studies that address faculty well-being, motivation, and educational networks, all of which are required to sustain a productive educational environment. Also, this session addresses workplace bullying which affects faculty well-being. The papers offer different analytical approaches (e.g., quantitative and qualitative) to examine faculty well-being in highly stressful academic environments. In a historical moment in which faculty are under fire from the public and post-secondary administration, these findings elucidate the need to better understand antecedents of faculty wellness and the critical role of faculty networks in supporting healthy educational work environments.
