The Rise of ESG and the Future of Financial Reporting

Abstract

Panel Description: Timely and informative panel featuring industry leaders discussing changing landscape and changing corporate reporting (on the horizon) for companies, as it relates to ESG.

The panel will include a representative from the Big 4, a chief sustainability officer (CSO) at a publicly traded company, an economist from the SEC, and an ESG assurance specialist, among others. Names of panelist to be confirmed/provided within a week of panel confirmation.

Topics to be discussed:
-The changing trends in ESG around the world (and impact on corporations)
-The changing corporate reporting requirements around the world
-Overview of what US public companies expect (including discussion of SEC proposed regulation)
-Research opportunities: How can researchers contribute in this changing landscape

I plan to leverage my contacts in industry and the SEC (and have already received confirmation from a few potential speakers).
