Abstract

This paper compares the results from a study of ethical attitudes of US accountants and a similar study of Brazil accountants. The studies used vignettes to measure attitudes. The authors found significant differences between US and Brazil accountants. These results show the need for a consensus among countries about ethics and ethical standards.
