IT consumerization refers to the phenomenon of using personal devices and applications work-related tasks. Considered as a major wave of employee-driven innovation, many organizations have adopted IT consumerization to reap its benefits. This study examines the IT consumerization behavior and perception among accounting professionals. Results indicate that although only 14% of the respondents’ organizations implemented Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) policy while about 40% of the accounting professionals have used their own devices for work-related tasks. Many accounting professionals have a negative attitude towards IT consumerization due to the potential security, privacy, work-life overlap concerns, however they do realize the flexibility, autonomy and convenience benefits it offers.
