United States’ health care spending exceeds any other high-income country with a total annual expenditure of approximately $3.6 trillion, an estimated 18% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Further, health care spending is expected to reach $6 trillion by 2027. Despite high levels of health care spending, the US system lacks an integrative health care delivery system, and is deficient in basic primary care. This situation results in poor health outcomes which might include: shorter life expectancy and increased prevalence of chronic conditions. This paper employs descriptive research through a literature review and evaluates the components of a feasible and properly implemented on-site health care clinic program.
