Faculty Development Workshops That Aim to Improve Classroom Instruction and Research Pursuits

Abstract

This CTLA session will examine how faculty development sessions can assist and develop all faculty in their delivery of high-quality instruction to accounting and business students. With a great deal of instruction moving to online modes, these sessions can assist in smoothing the transition; moreover, the sessions can assist in insuring faculty are focused on student learning. Samples of faculty development sessions delivered include: the teaching philosophy statement, interpreting student evaluations, getting students to talk in the classroom, close learning, how to improve the use of electronic communication with students, how to prepare and deliver audio lectures, how to locate citations for your academic publications.
