The AICPA Gold Medal for Distinguished Service: The Deloitte Recipients

Abstract

Deloitte, the largest of the Big Four CPA firms, has been the professional home of more winners of the AICPA’s highest award than any other firm. Through 2015, the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to 103 people. From Victor Herman Stempf, the 1944 AICPA president who won the 1945 Gold Medal, to William Ezzell, the 2002 AICPA chairman who won the 2009 award, there have been 21 individuals from Deloitte and its legacy firms who have received the profession’s highest honor. This paper summarizes the contributions of these 21 individuals.
