Managerial Accounting Course Content (MACC) Project

Abstract

This proposal represents a project examining the content of managerial accounting courses. This project will result in two working papers. The first will be a summary of proposed optimal topics to be taught in an introductory managerial accounting course resulting from survey results of three constituency groups: academics, managerial accounting professionals, and alumni. The second paper is an editor requested piece applying the findings of the survey to locate opportunities and needs for new cases to be published in these areas. We currently have access to two of the three constituent groups and are applying for access to the third.
