Effect of Pseudo-Participation on Job Performance of South Korean Managers

Abstract

This is a study of the effect of Budgetary Participation Conflict (BPC) on the job performance of South Korean managers directly; and indirectly through job tenure and job satisfaction. BPC occurs when the level of budget participation experienced by a manager differs from a desired level, i.e. pseudo participation. Path analysis is used to test the proposed model. The results indicate that budgetary participation conflict does not directly affect job performance but it does affect job satisfaction which in turn affects job performance and job tenure.
