Teaching Beyond the Textbook

Abstract

Teaching Beyond the Textbook allows students access to the most current information while developing research, analysis, critical thinking, and communication skills. The process may also lower the cost of course materials to the student. Presenters will focus on courses in the areas of Fraud and Forensic Accounting, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, and Government and Not For Profit Accounting. Resources will include Open Education Resources (OER) and professional organizations such as Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), ISACA, the AICPA, and Association of Government Accountants (AGA).
