Summary

In our study, we looked at the influence of three item characteristics: error type (e.g., word inversion, missing or wrong word), syntactic construction type (e.g., passive, comparative) and error location (same or different position in the sentence) on success at a metalinguistic task among elementary school learners (NS= 36; NNS=110).
