Abstract

This paper investigates the evolving landscape of energy security in the Baltic states, with a particular focus on Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. Through an exploration of historical contexts, the analysis probes how these nations have confronted and managed energy challenges, shedding light on the consequential impacts on their security, safety, and overall well-being. The study employs an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating perspectives from international relations, energy policy, and regional studies to examine the Baltic states' endeavors to establish a resilient and sustainable energy future.

By scrutinizing transnational collaborations and policy frameworks, the research aims to provide valuable insights into the broader discourse on energy security within the Baltic Sea region. In light of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the paper underscores the heightened significance of energy independence for the Baltic states. The analysis delves into how the transition towards energy security is influencing the Baltic states, evaluating specific criteria such as threat identification, opportunities, strategic plans, collaborations, and partnership strategies. Ultimately, this paper seeks to contribute to a nuanced understanding of the complex dynamics surrounding energy security in the Baltic region during a pivotal geopolitical juncture.
