Intake Assessment, Ongoing Assessment, and Final Evaluation in the Teaching of Pronunciation and Listening Skills

Abstract

The presentation will discuss the approaches taken by the Indonesian language program at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in the fields of intake assessment, ongoing assessment, and final evaluation and in the teaching of pronunciation and listening skills particularly in the context of hybrid and online learning. Examples will be taken from the various hybrid and online learning materials developed by the UHM Indonesian Language Program, including "Language of the Media", "Anak Jalanan", and the beginners'-level textbook "The Indonesian Way" .
