Between Testing and Assessment: The Case of Listening Comprehension

Abstract

This presentation will discuss the current trends in the assessment of listening comprehension skills. It will address the issues regarding the effectiveness and reliability of the traditional method of assessment. It will further discuss the implications of testing and assessment in listening comprehension. This paper will explore the alternative/modified assessment method to address the shortcomings of the current method.
