Abstract

Learn about current grant opportunities from the NEH (National Endowment for the Humanities) and get tips for writing successful applications from NEH staff members. Program officers from the NEH's Division of Research and the Division of Preservation and Access will discuss grant programs appropriate for individuals, teams of scholars, and institutions (including libraries, archives, and museums) engaged in scholarly research in Asian Studies or the management, preservation, and interpretation of collections related to Asian Studies. The session will include information on the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission's Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan (which are administered by NEH). Workshop participants will have the option to meet individually with NEH staff members to discuss specific ideas for proposals to any NEH-administered program.
