Investigating the Performance of Differently Composed Online Teams

Short Description

This proposal reports a Category 1 Completed Study on an automated assessment methodology for the structural and semantic analysis of team-based knowledge representations. 56 teams of learners (N = 224) in three experimental conditions, which were based on their prior knowledge, solved two tasks in the domain of teacher education. The findings of this study support the premise that team composition based on prior knowledge does have an impact on team performance. The AECT presentation will discuss practical implications and issues for future research.
