Short Description

The facilitator plays a key role in guiding students’ efforts during case discussions. However, little is known regarding learning outcomes of various facilitation levels. In this research, we compare the problem space covered by students in a facilitated vs. a non-facilitated (NF) case discussion. Results suggest that students in a facilitated discussion participate more, cover more of the afforded space, and address that space at a deeper level than students in a NF discussion.
