Research suggests negative relationships between communication technologies and academic performance. This study compared high and low technology users on three scales from the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI). A significant negative relationship was found on the Time Management scale but not the Concentration or Selecting Main Ideas scales. This study adds to our understanding of the relationships between popular technologies and the skills college students will need for success in school and the workplace.
