Short Description

This presentation focuses on conceptualizing the terms trend, issue, and fad. We share our articulation of the concepts trends and issues in order to better understand how technological innovations and current research findings affect the field of educational technology. The presentation concludes with discussion on how clear descriptions of these terms help determine what we teach in our educational technology courses, the support instructional designers provide to educators, and the research studies we pursue.
