Short Description

We will review current learning analytics (LA) literature, describe commonalities between instructional design (ID) and LA processes, and demonstrate a worked example of the LA process that helps define the instructional designer's important role. We will discuss the overlap of LA and academic analytics (AA), and describe how LA and AA impact pedagogy. This session is for instructional designers, students, and researchers interested in learning and academic analytics.
