T01 CLT: Cognitive apprenticeship as a framework for teaching entrepreneurship online: Leveraging communities of practice to scale

Fri, Nov 7, 3:30 to 4:30pm, 3rd Level, Conference Ctr A

Short Description

Many of the skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur are largely invisible including making judgments in uncertainty, sensemaking/sensegiving, resource-acquisition, rapid problem solving and coping skills. However, one of the strengths of the cognitive apprenticeship framework is its ability to make the invisible visible to the novice student. This session will explore how the cognitive apprenticeship framework can facilitate entrepreneurial skill acquisition when combined with virtual communities of practice and lightweight management tools.
