Short Description

Many educators acknowledge and support the right of students to evaluate the effectiveness of their instructors, and most institutions proscribe and mandate a process for this to occur. In recent years, many educational institutions have switched from paper-based evaluations to online evaluations, but this process often leads to poor student participation and unhappy faculty. This paper reports on the systems approach used at a large, public, urban, comprehensive university to successfully implement student evaluations of teaching effectiveness in an online mode, with superior response rates.
