A university’s organizational culture can influence how online courses are designed. The design includes the tools provided and thus adopted in the course design as well as the instructional methods used to deliver the courses. These design decisions in turn can affect how learning outcomes are achieved. Three case studies will be discussed as examples of how the organizational culture influenced the course design.
