The possibility of adopting MOOCs into museum practice

Short Description

In general, MOOCs are free online courses offered by both universities and scholars around the world through the delivery of different platforms in addition to three brand name providers. The rise of MOOCs has proposing challenging questions for administrators and educators in academics, particularly in higher education. Even though we can’t predict MOOCs is a disruptive innovation or just a fad due to relatively new notion right now, the MOOC phenomenon will impact the field of museum education sooner or later. This article presents a framework for museum professionals to discuss the possibility of adopting MOOCs to promote innovative programs and outreach which facilitate lifelong learning, self-directed learning and informal learning.
