A Comparison of Learning and Teaching Experiences between Hypothetical and Real Teacher Cases

Short Description

This study compares the experiences of pre-service teachers' (PSTs) learning and instructors teaching using cases from real teachers versus hypothetical teachers. Service learning inspired the modification to involve real teachers, whereas the original format of cases retained suggestions from the case-based learning tradition. We report the experiences of 90 PSTs and three instructors to highlight the concerns of PSTs and instructors, authenticity and meaningfulness of PSTs learning experience, and their learning outcomes.
