Social networks, like Twitter and blogging platforms, provide spaces for cultural discourse outside of the classroom, just as online aggregator news sources, like Gawker and Buzzfeed, facilitate the viewing of culture and current events. But these exchanges can be mirrored in an educational context where research synthesis is a focal learning outcome. During this presentation, educators and designers in higher education will learn how the social aggregator website Scoop.it can reimagine roles for student researchers.
