Short Description

In educational technology filed, intersubjectivity is commonly conceptualized as an outcome of interaction like shared understanding, created common ground, construction of new knowledge, etc. Based on theories and research findings in phenomenology, cognitive science, developmental science and neuroscience, this presentation will articulate an alternative view of intersubjectivity: embodied intersubjectivity as precondition to interaction and knowledge creation. Role of body will be emphasized and instructional ideas how to “bring body online” in text-based online learning environments will be articulated.
