The study explores how interactive videoconferencing and chat rooms are used to connect students across the world in order to address their cross-cultural understanding. The results of the study suggest that these tools can be used for both awareness building in middle school students and attitudinal change in university students. This research also seeks to add to the current trends of how international educational programs perceive these technologies as contributing to their goals.
(The proposal would fall under the sub-theme: ‘Applications of new and emerging technologies within learning contexts’ and this study will fall in place with the Culture, Learning and Technology division of the conference and seeks a 20 minutes concurrent presentation slot for discussion).
