Third year clerkships are one of the most exciting and challenging times in the education of medical students. The purpose of this longitudinal exploratory study is to understand how mobile technology supports medical students’ learning and professional practice. Results from year one of two indicate that the medical students (n=36) are benefitting from the use of the iPads during the third year clerkship. Results support the literature indicating that the iPad may help change healthcare.
