Thu, Oct 20, 2:15 to 3:15pm, Conf Ctr, Conference Rm 6

Short Description

Onboarding is the process of helping new employees learn organizational culture as well as details related to performance expectation. Strategies used during onboarding include coaching, modeling, and just-in-time training. Many of these strategies can be found within a cognitive apprenticeship instructional framework. This study explored the extent to which organizations use cognitive apprenticeships to onboard new instructional designers.
