Delving into the Granular Differences for Certificate Achievers in MOOCs using Machine Learning

Short Description

Understanding behavior differences of certificate achievers might reasonably approximate a successful learning experience and pattern for learners. This study collected behavior data of 215 certificate achievers from a MOOC. Eight key behaviors affecting the scores of certificate achievers were determined by random forest regression algorithm. Three clusters of behavior patterns among the certificate achievers were found by K-Means clustering algorithm. The average score of Cluster 3 was significantly higher than that of Cluster 2.
