This study addresses the possibilities and challenges of a teaching simulation program that pays particular attention to the conversational method that uses an AI (Artificial Intelligence)-based conversational agent system, which is expected to provide preservice teachers with simulated teaching experiences. Specifically, this study focuses on the use of a conversational virtual agent system by looking at the effects of the agent’s different roles by exploring preservice teachers’ self-efficacy.
