We employed a two-group experimental design to assess the influence of task value scaffolding in a predictive learning analytics dashboard on learners’ anxiety, motivation, and learning performance in an online statistics course. The results showed that the task value scaffolding group experienced greater anxiety than the control group. There were also marginal statistically significant differences between groups in relation to learners’ self-efficacy, subjective task value and learning outcomes in favor of the control group.
