Short Description

The Early Career Symposium (ECS) has been a mentoring event at AECT Annual Conventions since 2009. This historical perspective considers how the purpose, structure, funding sources, attendees, and programming of the ECS evolved over the past decade. Emphasis is given to the historical influence of the ECS on participants, mentors, coordinators, AECT, and the field of instructional design and technology (IDT). Proposed and ongoing research is discussed.
