Negentropy and Systems Theory for Organizational Change

Wed, Nov 4, 9:00 to 10:15am EST (9:00 to 10:15am EST), Virtual AECT, City6

Short Description

Entropy is a physics construct for energy loss. Negentropy is the opposite—energy gain. In recent years, negentropy has been metaphorically applied to increased energy production in organizations from corporations to schools. Negentropy offers an opportunity to explore systemwide change. This presentation shares theoretical foundations of negentropy, links to systems theories and chaos theories, and examples of ways negentropy can act to increase energy and positive change within organizations.
