The purpose of this study was to determine if time has an impact on reported levels of Cognitive Presence (CP) for students in an online master’s program, specifically CP scores from beginning and end of program. Non-parametric tests were used to analyze CP scores from 96 enrollments. Preliminary analysis shows that CP scores did not increase significantly as learners progressed in the program. Conceptual and methodological explanations are given.
