Views and Uses of Analytics in Education: Five Research Areas and Four Philosophical Divides

Short Description

As the availability of educational digital data has increased, new research areas have emerged that focus on utilizing analytic methods to better understand these data. While many reviews of these different subareas have been completed, there is little existing research that explores this area of research as one cohesive research area. In this session, five different research areas within EDDA are discussed in detail and four philosophical distinctions between these fields are explored.
