Analyzing New Online Graduate Students’ Perceptions of Institutional Resources

Mon, Nov 2, 3:00 to 4:15pm EST (3:00 to 4:15pm EST), Virtual AECT, Grand4

Short Description

Because of the higher attrition rates of students in distance education programs, it is important that schools provide resources to mitigate online students’ feelings of loneliness and separation. We analyzed how 155 new online graduate students evaluated the importance of and the satisfaction with different services provided by a Northwest four-year higher education institution. Registration services, program-specific advising, and veteran services were rated among the most relevant resources. Additional findings will be discussed.
