Examining Competencies for the Instructional Design Professional: A Job Announcement Analysis

Short Description

The purpose of this research was to examine instructional design competencies through a systematic analysis of job announcements. Following a systematic process, we examined job announcements across three databases to extract a total of 1,030 unique job announcements. Using a conceptual framework, we examined these announcements for knowledge, skill, and ability statements and descriptively report the findings. The presentation provides a current snapshot of the knowledge, skills and abilities of instructional designers across settings.
