This is a meta-analysis study on the effects of gamification in educational settings, with a focus on affective and behavioral learning outcomes (cognitive learning outcomes were reported in a previous presentation). Besides the overall effect sizes, we extracted data at the gamification design element level (e.g. narrative, responsive feedback, etc.) and calculated effect sizes on 14 elements we coded in this study, which provide deeper insights into when and how gamification influences targeted outcomes.
