This study sought to determine differences among the strategies of students who were more or less successful in determining online credibility. Sixteen 8th graders participated in a concurrent think-aloud protocol that was captured via screencasting software and analyzed using an online platform for investigating multimodal data. Preliminary differences relate to prior knowledge, technical skills, reading efficiency, inhibitory control, curiosity and skepticism. Visual representations of data and implications for practice will be emphasized in the presentation.
