Designing Online Discussions for Culturally Inclusive Dialogue

Sat, Nov 7, 4:30 to 5:45pm EST (4:30 to 5:45pm EST), Virtual AECT, City4

Short Description

Discussions begin from the cultural perspectives of the course designer(s), though the dialogue and facilitation that occur throughout the conversation move through the tangible and intangible elements of the cultures of the participants. Through discussion of specific examples from presenters and participants alike, you will leave the session able to interpret standards related to culturally-inclusive design, evaluate discussion prompts for culturally-inclusive design practices, and recommend facilitation strategies that promote cultural inclusivity within online course discussions.
