This paper investigates the relationship between participation in faculty development opportunities, participation in change efforts, and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs). This study aimed to adapt the OCB framework to higher education settings as a means to characterize how faculty participate in and benefit from professional development experiences. Results indicated that OCBs dimensions cannot be considered as discretionary in the higher education context. Yet, OCBs provided a fruitful lens into how faculty participated in change efforts.
