The use of adaptive prompts to support students’ learning in a digital learning environment

Short Description

For successful learning processes the application of suitable strategies is crucial but also challenging for students. Therefore, prompts might be supportive. However, support adapting to learners might be more efficient. In this quasi-experimental study learners were confronted with generic, specific and adaptive specific prompts or no prompts while using a digital learning environment. Findings indicate that adaptive specific or no prompts are beneficial for learning performance and that the prompting conditions differ with regard to their navigation behavior.
