Short Description

This literature review explored approaches applied to designing online or blended IL instruction in higher education. The author applied search terms to the following databases: ERIC (Proquest), Education Source, Library Information Science and Technology Abstracts, and Library Literature and Information Science Full Text. Three themes emerged from the literature: format of instruction, macro-design frameworks, and micro-design frameworks. Discussion topics include challenges with designing online/blended IL instruction, gaps in the literature, and directions for future research.
