From Singular Design to Differentiation: A Literature Review of Adaptive Systems

Wed, Nov 4, 10:30 to 11:45am EST (10:30 to 11:45am EST), Virtual AECT, Grand4

Short Description

In the proposed roundtable, we discuss the evolution of adaptive systems and differentiated instruction. Differentiated instruction proposes that teachers should vary their teaching styles to the individual differences of the learners. In a traditional classroom, this proposes challenges. Adaptive systems offer a solution to this challenge. Adaptive systems use artificial intelligence to adapt content or interface presentation to the individual learner to address differentiated instruction. Four types of adaptive systems are discussed, as well as examples.
