Assessing serious games and simulations that immerse learners in activities with real world contexts requires capturing and assessing players’ actions and behaviors during their game-play activities over time. This presentation uses an Evidence-Centered Design framework to review published research on serious game assessment, map current games assessment methods to the framework’s criteria, and analyze what assessments have been found to be more effective for measuring learner performance over others.
