Using Social Annotation to Improve Learning in the Teacher Education Classroom

Short Description

This Inspire! Session will introduce participants to social annotation for supporting learning, driving engagement, and attending to equity issues within the classroom. Attendees will 1) collaboratively annotate an online document using Hypothesis (a free and open-source tool), 2) learn techniques for implementing social annotation in teacher education courses, and 3) create a plan for using social annotation tools in their own teacher education contexts. Participants should bring a laptop to participate in the annotation activities.
