Short Description

This case study investigates how learner engagement in social metacognition develops online in an environment that allows for the use of multiple technologies and takes every interaction with technology as a possible learning platform. This study looks at how an educators’ gaming guild fostered a culture of social metacognition in its members who were studying game mechanics, instructional strategies, and learner engagement informed by game play known as raids.
